Summary

Description
English: It was produced by Frederick Willem de Wet who was a clerk at the Cape Town police station at about 1830. He produced the images of some of Cape Town’s best known buildings at the time on engraved wooden printing blocks. A copy of his print of the S.A. Sendinggestig appeared in Suasso de Lime’s Cape Almanac of 1841. The restoration architect could therefore recreate the building’s original façade during its restoration.
