Use in article (WP:NFCC#7) | Selected Ambient Works Volume II |
Purpose of use in article (WP:NFCC#8) | The article for SAWII has an artwork section dedicated to discussion about both the photography and the cover art used for the album. I would like to use this as an example of the strange and cryptic photography seen throughout the album. The artwork section includes discussion and commentary about the photography from both Bandcamp Daily and Pitchfork. It would also be helpful to a reader who has never heard of SAWII to see what the photography within the album looks like. |
Not replaceable with free media because (WP:NFCC#1) |
The software or website from which the screenshot is taken is copyrighted and not released under a free license, so creation of a free image is not possible. |
Not replaceable with textual coverage because (WP:NFCC#1) |
SAWII does not refer to any of its tracks through a traditional text-based title; instead, it uses similar cryptic photography in order to represent each track, which means they are important to their identification. Additionally, the artwork section explicitly talks about these photographs and as such the reader needs context about what they actually are. |
Minimal use (WP:NFCC#3) | This file will only be used once within the artwork section of SAWII to illustrate the point of discussion for the artwork section. It will only be used once in this article only to demonstrate this point, and will not be used in any other articles. The resolution has also been scaled down as to not use a higher resolution than necessary to give context to the reader. |
Respect for commercial opportunities (WP:NFCC#2) |
The use of a low resolution screenshot from software or a website will not impact the commercial viability of the software or site. |
Other information | While this image was sourced from a YouTube video of the full album by the official Aphex Twin YouTube channel, the same artwork is also present throughout the physical copies of Selected Ambient Works Volume II. |
