DescriptionScanning electron image of surface of a papyrus sheet - 100x.jpg
English: Even though paper gets its name from papyrus, this material is not technically paper. It does not go through the paper-making process and instead is made by cutting thin strips from the papyrus pith. The strips are then pressed together and dried. This image was created in 2007 by Charles Kaziek as part of the science and art fusion collaborative called the Paper Project. Image magnification - 100X.
