English: The letter S with fishermen. Woodcut initial from the collected works of Jacopo Sannazaro, published by Sebastian Gryphius in Lyon in 1536. Located on the first page of the Book of Epigrams (p. 141) beginning the word "Scribendi", it probably refers to Sannazaro's famous Fisher of men epigram mocking the murder of Giovanni Borgia, the Duke of Gandía in 1497.
