DescriptionRonecker Building aka Hopkins Block, Williamsville, New York - 20200531.jpg
English: The Ronecker Building, aka the Hopkins Block, 5548 Main Street, Williamsville, New York, May 2020. One of the handsomest and most historic commercial buildings in the village, it was built in 1854 in an Italianate style and owes its name to the Fred Ronecker Company, a men's clothing store, though through the ensuing years it has accommodated retail space and offices for concerns as diverse as the law practice of Timothy Hopkins, the first Amherst town supervisor and a founding father of the village, a grocery store, the offices of the Amherst Shopping News, and even the temporary home of the Williamsville Classical Institute. It's now once again home to a menswear store, as well as Muleskinner Antiques.
