English: Painting by Roger Winter, The Long Walk, (oil on linen, 42” x 72”, 2010.) The image illustrates the representational mode of expression Roger Winter began exploring in the mid-1970s, a style characterized by subtleties of surface, light, and form and the sense that they contain deeper meaning. The Long Walk depicts a female figure and white horse in a broad landscape scene. This painting and similar works have been exhibited in prominent galleries and museums in the United States, discussed in a monograph and numerous press publications, and and many have been acquired by major museums and prominent corporate and private collections.
