I own the original framed photograph from which this image is scanned. I am not aware of the existence of any other copies of that photograph. I note that I am the great-grandson of the late Mr. Cromie.
I note, respectfully, that Mr. Kevin Audet-Vallée, Rédacteur-historien of the Dictionnaire biographique du Canada, in part of an email dated July 19, 2016 in response to my suggestion that the Dictionary of Canadian Biography include a copy of this image with its article on Mr. Cromie (i.e. http://www.biographi.ca/en/bio/cromie_robert_james_16E.html), wrote as follows:
"I note that, As it is a non-artistic image made more than 50 years ago (Cromie died in 1936), there should not be any copyrights issues, if you give us authorization to use it."
