English: Reuben Carlton Baker poses in 1914 in next to a stack of Baker Casing Shoes, a device he invented to ensure the uninterrupted flow of oil. In 1918, Baker opened his first plant in Coalinga as the Baker Casing Shoe Co., which in turn became Baker Oil Tools.
