| Description |
English: Diagram depicting two different renal hematomas and their relationship with the two renal envelopes. The inner renal capsule does not easily expand so even a small subcapsular hematoma can potentially compress the renal parenchyma. The outer renal fascia is quite compliant; thus, perinephric hematomas can become quite large without affecting renal function. |
