English: Rail Scissors crossovers at Hornsby, NSW, showing how the site is severely constrained, just before the layout was remodelled in about 2018. The sharp curve at the Sydney end of the station (S & P) limits speeds to 40km/h; crossovers at either end of platforms P1 & P2 prevent extension of these platforms, and the scissors crossover is so constrained as to allow only a snail pace through its diamond crossing. Bridges on the road network provide additional constraints. The scissors are coloured red; other tracks are coloured dotted purple, and the roads are blue. Track centres are 12 feet (3.66m). Until recent layout changes, the Platforms only just had room for an 8-car suburban train.
