DescriptionPhylogenetic reconciliation time unfeasibility.svg
English: Phylogenetic trees define a partial temporal order on its nodes. Here node A is the parent of node C, so node A is older than node C. In the proposed reconciliation scenario, there is a horizontal gene transfer between A and B, so for it to be possible A must be older than B, because it passed some of its genetic material to B. Same goes for C and B, and we can deduce that C is strictly older than C, the scenario is not temporally feasible.
