English: Closeup of the upper portion of a young flowering shoot of Paeonia ludlowii, comprising a clump of delicate, feathery, rather claw-like and still tightly-furled leaf blades, their upper surfaces green and their undersides flushed coppery pink, surrounding a young flower bud which is starting to push its way out. The elongate, slender tips of the bowl-shaped sepals of the flower bud are protruding a little beyond the parted clump of leaf blades.
