Summary
| Description |
English: The old schoolhouse in Rackwick, Hoy, Orkney in Scotland. Originally opened in 1718(?) the school was replaced in 1879(?) by a newer building next door (now the Rackwick hostel). The old schoolhouse now serves as a small museum with informational signage on the walls, some school furniture, and some farming equipment in the yard. The building is very basic, with bare drystone walls, bare rafters, and large bare stone slabs for the roof! |
