| Description |
Deutsch: Südsüdostansicht des Oberleiser Berges im niederösterreichischen Weinviertel. Der 457 m hohe Berg befindet sich vorwiegend auf dem Gebiet der Marktgemeinde Ernstbrunn und der Südostabhang auf dem Gebiet der Gemeinde Niederleis. Auf dem Plateau gibt es Siedlungsnachweise aus der mittleren Jungsteinzeit, der frühen Bronzezeit, der Kelten und der Germanen. Im Mittelalter wurde eine Kirche und ein Friedhof errichtet, später eine Wallfahrtskirche, die jedoch 1784 geschlossen und 1787 abgetragen wurde. 1970 wurde der Aussichtsturm Oberleis mit einem kleinen archäologischen Ausstellungsraum im Erdgeschoss errichtet. Die Ausstellung dokumentiert unter anderem die befestigte germanische Höhensiedlung (4. bis 5. Jahrhundert n. Chr.) auf dem Plateau. |
