Night_Watchman_Radar_Nova_Scotia_1941.jpg (449 × 450 pixels, file size: 144 KB, MIME type: image/jpeg)

Summary

Description
English: A member of the CAF pictured by the Night Watchman radar, the first radar of Canadian design and the first radar in operational use outside of Europe, in Nova Scotia in 1941. NOTE: This is not Night Watchman, which was a VHF system using a large antenna. This appears to be a version of GL Mk. III© (also Canadian) that replaced Night Watchman some time in 1943 or later. The confusion comes from The Globe and Mail, which ran this photo claiming it was NW.
