English: Statuette of Athena. Pentelic marble. Found in Athens, near the Pnyx. Known as the "Lenormant Athena", this statuette copies the Athena Parthenos by Pheidias. Although unfinished, the work is important because it preserves the relief representation of an Amazonomachy on the exterior of the shield and the relief image of the Birth of Pandora on the base — themes that adorned the original statue of Athena. The copy probably dates to the 1st century AD.
