Den Turner gouf dowienst posthum mat der héichster US-amerikanescher Arméiauszeechung, der Medal of Honor dekoréiert. Den 8. Februar 1945 ass hien zu Wallenborn gefall. Hie gouf um Amerikaneschen Zaldotekierfecht zu Hamm begruewen.
Méi iwwer den Turner hei. Och de Joseph Maertz huet a sengem Wierk Luxemburg in der Rundstedt-Offensive: das Duell Patton - von Rundstedt in den Oeslinger Bergen de Virfall beschriwwen.
