Description
English: Lithograph showing various scenes from the Comstock Lode, a large silver and gold deposit worked by numerous mines in Virginia City and Gold Hill, Nevada, and the first silver strike in the United States. Depicted are the square-set timbering method first developed at the Comstock Lode, the various headframes and mills of mines, mining tools, cooling rooms, and shafts. (cropped and lightened)
