English: Middlecott's Hospital In 1625 Sir Thomas Middlecott founded these almshouses for ten poor folk of good name and repute of Fosdyke and Algarkirk. The building is inconveniently remote for today's elderly people and it was sold in the late 1970s, the money being used to build modern bungalows in Fosdyke and Algarkirk. The cottages are now privately owned homes.
