English: BUILT IN 1856 AND CLOSED IN 1887 AS THE TOWN CENTER GRAVITATED TOWARD THE DRAW BRIDGE NEAR THE WATERFRONT. IT HAS SERVED MANY COMMUNITY FUNCTIONS SINCE THEN INCLUDING INDIAN AND COLONIAL RESEARCH CENTER AND PRESENTLY THE BUTLER LIBRARY
