Description
English: Lancashire Fusiliers War Memorial, Whitehead Gardens. Memorial erected in Whitehead Gardens for members of the Lancashire Fusiliers Regiment who were killed in the South African wars at the start of the twentieth century. The regiment headquarters was in Bury.

The inscription on the plaque reads: "To the glorious memory of Lancashire Fusiliers line militia & volunteer who gave their their lives for their sovereign & country in South Africa 1900-2. This monument is erected by their comrades of all ranks & by friends of the regiment"

The Whitehead Clock Tower, also situated in Whitehead Gardens 1691520 is just visible, directly behind the memorial and behind that, at the northern end of the gardens is the Town Hall 1691477
