A tree of +Laburnocytisus 'Adamii', a so-called "graft hybrid" or "graft-chimaera". This tree was created by grafting a purple broom, Cytisus purpureus, onto a laburnum, and has flowers typical of both plants as well as some which are intermediate between the two. For more information, see +Laburnocytisus 'Adamii'.
Date
Some time during the 1980s.

This is a scan from a medium-format transparency which I took at the Chelsea Physic Garden.
This scan is in the Public Domain (however, I retain ownership and copyright of the original transparency and any higher-resolution scans derived from it). If this image is used outside Wikipedia a photographer's credit (Simon Garbutt) would be much appreciated!
