Español: Retrato del marino criollo y limeño Juan Francisco de la Bodega y Quadra (1743-1794), que sirvió en la Armada Española. Navegó desde el puerto de San Blas, en el actual estado de Nayarit, México, entre 1774 y 1788, y exploró toda la costa noroeste de América por el Océano Pacífico hasta Alaska.
English: Spanish naval officer and explorer Juan Francisco de la Bodega y Quadra (1743-1794) wears the full dress uniform of a captain in the Marina real (the Spanish navy). Bodega y Quadra was the Spanish representative in the 1792 commission that met to implement the Nootka Bay Agreement, along with British officer and explorer George Vancouver.
