Description
English: Miss Joy Young [later Mrs. Joy Young Rogers], of Washington, D.C. Assistant Editor of "The Suffragist," weekly organ of the Woman's Party and the Congressional Union for Woman Suffrage. Picture taken when she was on her way to the White House to present President Wilson with a basket of flowers in which was contai[ned a request for passage of the women's suffrage amendment, and letters of support from women of the American West.][1] Informal portrait, three-quarter-length, Joy Young, facing forward, standing outside with White House in background, wearing wide-brimmed hat, two-piece suit with piping, gloves, and tricolor suffrage sash, carrying a basket of flowers.
