Description
Español: Retrato del político y economista español José Canga Argüelles (1770-1843), que fue Superintendente general de Hacienda en 1811 y diputado de las Cortes de Cádiz en el mismo año. El 14 de enero de 1811 y el 6 de febrero de 1812 fue nombrado ministro de Hacienda con carácter interino, y elaboró el primer Presupuesto español de gastos e ingresos del Estado. Desterrado por la monarquía absolutista volvió a ser ministro de Hacienda durante el Trienio liberal entre el 22 de marzo de 1820 y el 2 de marzo de 1821, y en 1820 también fue consejero de Estado.
