Français : Hon. Jean-Charles Chapais, (Receiver Genera) b. Dec. 2, 1811 - July 17, 1885. Jean-Charles Chapais est un homme d'affaires et un homme politique québécois. Il est né le 2 décembre 1811 à Rivière-Ouelle, fut éduqué à Nicolet et est décédé le 17 juillet 1885. Il est considéré comme l'un des pères de la Confédération canadienne pour sa participation à la Conférence de Québec (1864) visant à déterminer la forme du futur gouvernement du Canada.
