English: This is a reproduction of a portrait painting of James Barrett (1862-1945) created possibly around the 1930s. (Possibly an official portrait painting as office-bearer of the University of Melbourne circa 1931-1939 or the portrait by Charles Wheeler (1881-1977) unveiled in 1939.)

English: Per Commons:Copyright rules by territory/Australia, Australian "photographs (published or unpublished) taken prior to midnight on the 31st December 1954 are in the public domain." And since this one has never been registered for copyright in the US and the image must have been taken before Barrett's death in 1945, it's also PD in the United States.
