DescriptionIstanbul Köprülü Complex mosque in 2004 4759.jpg
English: The mosque on Divan Yolu. Most pictures are from a part of the larger complex. Its entrance is in a side street with the mosque on its corner with the Divan Yolu. It's from 1659-1660, founded by Mehmet Pasha and Fazil Ahmet Pasha, both from the Köprülü family, a family that is "considered to be the most distinguished family in the whole family of the Ottoman Empire" (quote from Strolling Through Istanbul, Redhouse Press 1989). Five members of this family were Grand Vezir in the second half of the 17th century and early 18th century. If one enters, there is the back of the mosque, a mausoleum for a member of the family, and buildings that now are housing social and health facilities.
