Description
English: Skeletal structures for the synthesis of humulone. First, 1,2,3,5-tetrahydroxybenzene undergoes a Friedel–Crafts acylation with isovaleryl chloride using aluminium chloride as catalyst. Then a double alkylation is performed with prenyl bromide using sodium hydride as base.
