North Eastern Railway W. Worsdell Class "E1" (LNER Class "J72") 0-6-0T No.69023 "Joem" (later BR Departmental No.DS9) as in BR days with BR number and 1956 crest but in NER Saxony Green livery and the NER coast-of arms as used as station pilot at Newcastle. The NER built 75 in 1898-1922, the LNER built 10 in 1925 and BR (NER) built 28 in 1949-51, an amazingly long time for a loco design to be in production. "Joem" was built in 1951 and withdrawn in 1966 as a Departmental loco. At Highley on the Severn Valley Railway, 03/12.
