Summary

Description
English: The Royal Australian Navy heavy cruiser HMAS Australia (D84) underway in Hudson River off New York City (USA)- heading north upstream, circa 1932-1933. The west shoreline of Manhattan looking towards the top of the Woolworth Building is visible in the distance. The squat, square structure just off-shore (near Canal Street in Lower Manhattan) is a ventilation structure for the trans-Hudson tunnel linking New York City and New Jersey.
