Afrikaans: 'n Wespedief-mannetjie (Pernis apivorus) sweef oor Krantzkloof-natuurreservaat in KwaZulu-Natal, Suid-Afrika. Dit verveer hier aan die suidpunt van sy migrasiesiklus. Die voël blyk 'n grys keel te hê, en 'n duidelik omsoomde agterste vlerkrand, soos ook die buitenste slagvere se punte ("vingers") wat duidelik swart afgeteken is. By wyfies is dié merke dowwer.
English: A moulting male European honey buzzard (Pernis apivorus) soaring over Krantzkloof Nature Reserve, KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa, at the southern limit of its migration cycle. The bird's throat appears gray, the trailing edge of the wing has a sharply defined black line. The outer primaries ("fingers") likewise have sharp black tips. In females these would be diffuse black.
Français : Un mâle de bondrée apivore en mue active des rémiges. Cette espèce finit sa migration sur les quartiers d'hivernage. La gorge semble grise, le bord de l'aile présente une ligne noire nettement définie. Les primaires externes (les doigts) ont un bout noir net alors que les femelles ont un bout noir diffus. |
