English: Holyhead Station, 1993. View northward, towards the Harbour and the sea: ex-LNW terminus of the main line from Chester via Llandudno Junction and Bangor. An Up service, headed by a Class 37 Diesel, waits to leave from the only one of three platforms normally used - it seems, alongside which on the far side the ferry-ships from Dublin Ferryport and Dun Laoghaire load to/from Ireland. Note the massive new movable gantry beyond - also the weeds. |
