This is an image of a place or building that is listed on the National Register of Historic Places in the United States of America. Its reference number is 89001472.

Description
English: "The Coast Guard Cutter Redwood anchored off Pecks Ledge Lighthouse as fuel is transferred by hose to resupply generator fuel tanks on the light."

Although the USCG source identifies this as Pecks Ledge Light, that appears to be incorrect. It is actually Greens Ledge Light, several miles away. From the USCG Light List:

  • "Greens Ledge Light: Conical tower, upper half white, lower half brown, on black cylindrical pier."
  • "Peck Ledge Light: White conical tower, middle part brown, on black cylindrical pier."

This image shows the brown band at the bottom of the tower. See Pecks Ledge Light for an image of the correct light, with the brown band in the middle of the tower.

Also, the character of the rock around the base is different. Green Ledge's base has the broken rock shown here. Peck Ledge has rounded boulders. Finally, see File:Greens Ledge Lighthouse Norwalk CT.jpg and The NRIS listing.
