| Purpose of use in article (WP:NFCC#8) | The article refers to the series of Italian translations of English mystery novels called Il Giallo Mondadori ("Mondadori Yellow (books)"). The series eventually spawned a film subgenre called giallo films, in reference to their characteristic yellow ("giallo" in Italian) covers. Edgar Wallace's Il Fante di Fiori is a particularly perfect illustration of this phenomenon and clearly illustrates the precise characteristics of the series, as well as clearly depicting other important aspects of the genre (for example, the masked gunman). The image is necessary to visually depict the origin of the genre's name and genesis and to differentiate Italian "yellow" giallos from other works with similar yellow covers (Cliff Notes, for example). |
