Notes Beschreibung aus Karl Woermanns Galeriekatalog 1887: Der Künstler eine Dame malend. Links in seinem reich mit Vorhängen geschmückten Atelier sitzt der junge Künstler im schwarzen Sammetrock, mit dem Pinsel in der Rechten, vor seiner Staffelei, auf der das angefangene Bildniss einer Dame steht. Diese steht in weissem Atlaskleide mit Goldbesatz, von hinten gesehen, vorn in der Mitte und wendet ihr Gesicht dem Künstler zu, der sie lächelnd anblickt. Rechts in der Thüre eine Magd, die Wein bringt. Links vorn eine Bassgeige. Bezeichnet links am Fenster, wie die vorigen:
Eichenholz; h. 0,59½; br. 0,46 m
