| Description |
GOES-R emerges from its transport at Kennedy Space Center after its journey from Colorado. GOES-R arrived at Kennedy Space Center on August 22, 2016 aboard a U.S. Air Force C-5M Super Galaxy cargo transport from Buckley Air Force Base in Aurora, Colorado. Technicians carefully moved to the satellite to a warehouse where it was stored overnight. GOES-R will now undergo preparations for launch on November 4, 2016, at an Astrotech Space Operations facility in Titusville, Florida. The truck is a 2009 Peterbilt 367 conventional.
