Description
English: A closeup of a single flower of Fritillaria uva-vulpis, showing to advantage the sombre purple exterior with its plum-like, waxy bloom (coating), relieved by the yellow margin at the tips of the tepals (held at the base of the nodding flower). Flower borne by a cultivated specimen of this attractive species, purchased at the plant centre of Alnwick (pronounced “Annick”) Gardens, in the county of Northumberland, United Kingdom.
