Description
English: Iphigeneia carried to the sacrifice (centre) while the seer Calchas (on the right) watches on and Agamemnon (on the left) covers his head in sign of lamentation. In the sky, Artemis appears with a hind which will be substituted for the young girl.
Français : Iphigénie (au centre) emmenée au sacrifice en présence du devin Calchas (à droite) et d'Agamemnon (à gauche) qui se couvre la tête en signe de lamentation. Artémis apparaît dans le ciel avec une biche qui sera substituée à la jeune fille.
Italiano: Sacrificio di Ifigenia : Ifigenia, figlia di Agamennoine, viene portata di peso da Ulisse e Diomede al sacerdote Calcante, pronto a sacrificarla ad Artemide, il cui simulacro è a sinistra sulla colonna. Agamennone, completamente avvolto nel suo mantello, impotente di cambiare il volere degli dei, è racchiuso nel suo dolore. Intanto ecco arrivare dall'alto Artemide che salverà Ifigenia sostituendola con una cerva.
