Summary

Description Morning sunlight in some piney woods at Frenchman's Forest Natural Area, Palm Beach County. The Hypericum have a long history of medicinal uses by humans. They are usually placed in the family Clusiaceae but are sometimes recognized as being in their own unique family, the Hypericaceae. We have at least 12 species in southern Florida and I love them all! I wish this flower was 10 inches across with anthers the size of golf balls, but it's actually quite small.
