Description Many communities and small towns in eastern North Carolina found themselves afloat following Hurricane Floyd's massive rainfall and the ensuing floods. Streams and waterways were already swollen from Hurricane Dennis, which struck eastern North Carolina (twice) just weeks before Hurricane Floyd.
