Description
Español: El lienzo representa al rey Fernando I de León (c.1016-1065), hijo de Sancho Garcés III de Pamplona, rey de Pamplona, y de la reina Jimena Fernandez. Impulsó la Reconquista, conquistando las plazas de Lamego (1057), Viseo (1058) y Coímbra (1064), además de someter a varios de los reinos de taifas de la Península Ibérica al pago de parias al reino leonés. Al morir dividió sus reinos entre sus hijos: a su hijo primogénito, Sancho II, le correspondió el reino de Castilla y las parias sobre el reino taifa de Zaragoza. A su segundo hijo, Alfonso VI, le correspondió el reino de León y el título imperial, así como las parias del reino taifa de Toledo. El tercer hijo de Fernando I, Garcia, recibió el es, creado a tal efecto, y las parias de los reinos taifas de Sevilla y Badajoz. A las infantas Urraca y Elvira les correspondieron las ciudades de Zamora y Toro, respectivamente, también con título real y rentas propias.
