Español: "El escudo fue adoptado el 7 de diciembre de 1992 mediante el acuerdo 022 del Concejo Municipal. Su autor fue Asdrúbal Quintero y en su parte superior tiene un águila con las alas extendidas mirando hacia el lado izquierdo, de su pico prende una cinta con las palabras "Libre y Soberana", en sus patas lleva una cadena rota, que simboliza la libertad. Debajo del águila al lado izquierdo un canasto de café, al centro un agricultor y a la parte derecha la figura de una res, símbolos de riqueza y productividad. Hacia la parte inferior un paisaje con el nevado del Quindío y sobresaliendo hacia el centro del paisaje, la imagen del cementerio libre, patrimonio arquitectónico e histórico, testigo mudo de un pueblo libre. El Escudo está enmarcado por los colores de su bandera y en su parte inferior la fecha de fundación del Municipio (1884)" [1] |
