English: Comparison between male specimens of the closely related damselflies Erythromma viridulum (Small Red-eyed Damselfly; top) and Erythromma najas (Red-eyed Damselfly; bottom). Notice the petty different distribution in the blue markings and some more details. Location (the same habitat): North-eastern Lower Saxony, Germany.
Deutsch: Direkter Vergleich zweier Männchen der sehr ähnlichen Arten Kleines Granatauge (Erythromma viridulum; oben) und Großes Granatauge (Erythromma najas; unten). Beachte die unterschiedliche Verteilung der Blaufärbung am Hinterleibsende sowie am Ansatz des Abdomens und weitere Details. (Das Rot der Augen beim etwas jüngeren Exemplar des Kleinen Granatauges wird mit zunehmendem Alter aber noch nachdunkeln.) Beide Aufnahmen entstanden im Abstand von wenigen Minuten am selben Gewässer. |
