Summary

Description
English: An engraving of a crew unloading coal from a schooner, with the tug Erie Belle alongside, from an 1884 advertisement for coal. The Erie Belle exploded in 1883, but this image got used after that as a generic "people unloading coal from a ship" image. I don't know what ship the schooner is, if it is indeed supposed to be a specific ship.
Date Published 1884, most likely created 1883 or earlier.

Author Author unknown. From the 1884 book "Directory of the Marine Interests of the Great Lakes: Comprising A Complete List of All Vessels Navigating the Lakes, Arranged Alphabetically..." R. L. Polk & Co., Detroit, MI., p 275.
