Summary

Description
English: The map is showing the approximate location of the Early Slavs and subsequent migrations between the 6th and 7th centuries, including the migration of the Serbs in the 7th century. It is considered that the Serbs possibly arrived as an organized military elite which managed to organize other already settled and more numerous Slavs (see, among others, Peter Heather, Empires and Barbarians: The Fall of Rome and the Birth of Europe, 2010).
  • Yellow (approximate location of Sorbian tribes representing the "White Serbs" and homeland "Boiki", and the area settled by the Serbs in the Balkans, according to De Administrando Imperio)
  • Red (approximate location of South Slavic states later conquered by Serbia or with significant Serb population, according to De Administrando Imperio)
