In the evening of 17 April 2018 a rare celestial conjunction occurred over ESO headquarters at Garching bei München, Germany. The crescent Moon was joined by both Venus and the Pleiades and Hyades star clusters. The phenomenon was even more unique as the ESO Supernova Planetarium & Visitor Centre was also in sight in this spellbinding image captured by ESO Photo Ambassador Petr Horálek.
