English: A Barlow wheel, an early experiment demonstrating the principle of a homopolar electric motor, invented by English mathematician Peter Barlow in 1822. This model consisting of two wheels in series was produced by the scientific instrument maker Watkins and Hill in 1845, for demonstrations in physics education classes, and is now on display at The Spark Museum, Bellingham, Washington state, USA. The admissions employee of the museum gave oral permission for photography.
