DescriptionDoorway St. Jakobikirche in Coesfeld Germany.jpg
English: Doorway St. Jakobikirche in Coesfeld Germany dating from the period that Coesfeld was granted city rights (the town charter is dated 1197). The church was bombed in WWII but the doorway remained. A new church was built after the war, but the door is kept as a symbol for St. James pilgrims on the way to Santiago de Compostela in Spain (a map of the old St. James way and explanation are on a commemortative plaque).
