Description
English: In the sculpture gallery of the Felix Meritis Society, plaster casts of sculptures from Roman museums and the Musée Napoléon in Paris were exhibited against pale blue walls. De Lelie, a member of the society, portrayed himself from the back amidst the commis-sioners and directors of the scoiety’s departments.
Nederlands: De beeldenzaal van de Maatschappij Felix Meritis te Amsterdam, met portretten van de commissarissen en directeuren van de Departmenten Teekenkunde, Letterkunde en Koophandel en de secretarissen der Maatschappij. In de zaal en tegen de wanden staan veel gipsmodellen van antieke standbeelden, portretbustes en reliëfs. Vooraan zit een kunstenaar te schetsen. De aanwezige kunstenaars zijn, van links naar rechts: J. Adami, J.P. Hibma (zittend), M. Kooy (staand), Hidde Heeremiet, W.J. Bruggemeyer, Hendriik de Flines, A. Bruyn, G. Koek, Wouter Johannes van Troostwijk, Daniël Dupré (tekenend), Dirk Versteegh en in de middengroep J.G. Biben, G.J. Palthe, P. Doublet, J. Pennis, C. Covens, Johannes Hermanus Molkenboer, A.J. Deyman, R. Hoyman, Adriaan de Lelie (zittend op de rug gezien), P. Pietersz Iz, Hermanus Numan, M. Romswinckel, G. van Haarst Az, E.P. Offerman, G. Swarth en in de rechtergroep C. Tweehuizen (de bedel, de voorste figuur in de deuropening), J.W. Berntz, G. van der Voort, Barend Klijn, J.F. Klinkhamer, F. de Bozer, P.J. Uylenbroek, P. Heimbach J. Pz, A. Bousquet, J.L.
